Stamped fins can be manufactured in almost any shape or size. This style of fin is commonly referred to as "Square Fin" or "Plate Fin", although any shape is possible, square and round are the norm. The fin to tube attachment is normally Finbraze® or Cladfin®. Stamped fins are becoming the choice for replacing existing bare tube installations. Their in-line fin and tube spacing allow for excellent cleaning. This feature along with secure fin spacing make Stamped fins an excellent choice in sooting or fouling atmospheres. Fin heights are limited only by heat transfer considerations. Fins and tubing can be of similar or dissimilar metals. Normal tube outside diameters range from 1/2" to 2", with tube lengths up to 40 feet long. Fins per inch usually range between one and eight fins per inch. |
