With the use of our Cladfin® process a nickel-chrome coating of up to one mil thick is applied to the complete tube and fin surfaces, with a diffusion of 1/2 mil into the surface of the tube and fin. In high temperature uses where stainless steel is usually used for its heat-corrosion resistance, Cladfin® affords a suitable option to the high cost of all stainless construction. A carbon steel fin using the above process will meet most of the specifications of stainless steel, at a thermal efficiency three times greater than stainless! |
